University of Louisville second year head coach Steve Kragthorpe added three fresh faces to his staff over the winter break. Former University of Michigan defensive coordinator Ron English, former Duke University head coach Ted Roof, former University of California-Berkley defensvie line coach Ken Delgado and former Arizona State University strength coach Joe Kenn were added to the U of L football family.

The University of Louisville men's basketball team defeated the University of Kentucky 89-75 at Rupp Arena Saturday. Senior forward Juan Palacios led the team with 17 points and six rebounds while Jerry Smith added 17 points on 4-for-7 shooting. Terrence Williams finished with 15 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

Each year, the holidays bring a smorgasbord of new records and "best of" box sets. This season is no different. Led Zeppelin has released a two-CD and DVD set entitled "Mothership." Another CD release is from James Taylor, the acoustic artist who has compiled his most beloved songs into "One Man Band.

The alarming state of gas prices and lack of parking spaces have descended upon us as a plague. The problems facing drivers seemingly have no reprieve. For some, there appears to be no means of dealing with these difficulties. However, bicyclists have found a solution, although their endeavor is often a dangerous one.

He's not Brian Brohm, nor will he ever be considered a Heisman candidate, but junior Cory Thorne has made a name for himself as one of the premier runners nationally in cross country. He was an integral part of the 2007 men's cross country team which brought the University of Louisville its' first Big East title in the sport, and a school record ninth place finish at the NCAA championships two weeks ago.

Amidst the holiday shopping, Christmas lights, fruitcake and caroling, people often forget about one of Louisville's most important signs of the season: winter concerts. Four glorious weeks of winter break are just around the corner, and local venues are hosting plenty of great gigs, most for less than $20, to fill these school-free nights.

Lindsey Bogadi said she gets about six hours of sleep each night, and according to experts, she's below the national average. "I definitely didn't sleep enough in high school and I still don't," said Bogadi, a University of Louisville freshman biology major.

When the University of Louisville Board of Trustees met Thursday, it seemed its 2020 Business Plan was under attack from all sides. Earlier this month, the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education rejected U of L's plan, which required $31 million in funding from the state.

Where are you Christmas? Aside from the pre-lit, fiber optic, two-foot-tall tree in my apartment, I can't seem to find any Christmas on campus, commercial or otherwise. As my second Christmas of college approaches, I notice no signs anywhere: no trees, no lights, no holiday spirit.

Relocating the student health center won't keep the doctor away, however, it'll only keep students away. The current health services center is located between the Student Activities Center and the Houchens building. It is, however, in need of more space; space that the current building cannot provide. The university has purchased a building for this purpose, but its remote location has drawn the criticism of many, including the Student Government Association.
