Shuttle could transport students

Riding a shuttle is nothing new for University of Louisville students. Most do it everyday to and from classes.
Papa John's Cardinal Stadium provides parking for students close to campus and the shuttle cuts down on the time spent traveling from PJCS to campus and back.
The sad part is days where students want to go to PJCS – when the U of L football team is playing at home – there isn't any other way to get us there, other than walking.

Placement of student section needs direction

At this point in my life, there is nothing more thrilling than attending a University of Louisville basketball game.
There is one small problem: the location of the student section.
I know several schools' student sections are behind one of the baskets, but in such a large arena as Freedom Hall, the student section is isolated and it affects their performance.

Bring Midnight Madness

Growing up an avid college basketball fan, it doesn't take much to get me excited for University of Louisville basketball. However, it takes more than a red and white scrimmage.
I attended last year's red and white scrimmage and didn't leave with anticipation of watching the Cards in their season opener. After the first five minutes, I spent the majority of the time text messaging friends who weren't at the game and talking to friends at the game about things irrelevant to U of L basketball. I left long before the game ended and didn't care to read about the game the next day.

This year's Homecoming activities did not disappoint.
Mehak Bajaj was named Homecoming Queen and OJ Oleka was named Homecoming King. Bajaj, a senior psychology major and Oleka a senior marketing and political science major, were both sponsored by Kappa Delta Sorority.

Student finds harp a perfect fit

It has been played by angels for centuries and was once placed on a pedestal as a fragile, classical instrument, but is now seen by many as a dying art. Stereotypes have followed the harp for years. But Jordan Andrew, a sophomore English and Spanish major, has brought a different sensibility to the harp: unconventional, complex, and down-to-earth.

For University of Louisville Belknap students, the required meal plan starting fall 2009 is as follows:
4All students living in on-campus residence halls without kitchens will have a $1,165 meal plan.
4All students living in on-campus residence halls with kitchens will have a $745 meal plan.
4All full-time undergraduate students on the Belknap campus will
have a $250 meal plan.

Communication is based on mutual accountability.
There are so many fingers pointing within the U of L Belknap community, that a middle finger had to appear.

Booze and books

Waving her hands in front of a red Dixie cup filled to the brim with beer, Nicole Emberg attempts to distract the two guys at the other end of the table.
As her hands move back and forth swiftly, Eric Winstead pulls his arm back to a 90-degree angle and lightly floats a white ping pong ball into the air.
The ball hits the top of the cup, rims around the edge and falls onto the wooden table.
Emberg, with her teammate, Marissa Hibbs, a fellow peer at St. Catherine College in Bardstown, scream in elation, knowing they have secured victory in the drinking game known as Beer Pong.
"Yes!," exclaimed Emberg, as she gives high fives to her onlooking girlfriends.
Winstead and his team partner, bar owner William Harlow, hang their heads in defeat.
"Owner gets beat by girls," says Robbie Keith, another employee at the bar, grinning at Harlow.

Philosophy professor Robert Urekew remembers his time as a student when his professor addressed the class: "you better be wearing a sport coat when you come into my classroom."
"One day," said Urekew, "a student came to class wearing only a sport coat and a jockstrap."
When it comes to picking out appropriate clothes for class, some have a harder time than others.

Letters to the Editor: Meal Plan Grumblings

U of L is trying to pull a fast one over students, as most of the people I've talked to hadn't even heard of the plan.
This continued disrespect toward commuters (most of the student body) will result in more transfers to University of Kentucky and Jefferson Community & Technical College.
Sodexo is not even an American company. It's a French multinational
