The LGBT Center at the University of Louisville is hosting activities and events in October to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

The month-long variety of activities are in support of equality and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community. Pride Month celebrations, normally held in June, are instead hosted by U of L in October with the advent of LGBTQ+ History Month.

Pride recognizes achievements over adversity faced. The Student Government Association (SGA) at U of L asked LGBTQ+ students what U of L Pride Month meant to them, with one student responding “It feels very welcoming to know that there is a community that supports me where I don’t have to be uncomfortable around or scared to be myself.”
