Men’s tennis (5-4, 1-3) secured a much needed 6-1 win over Boston College (0-3, 0-3) Friday evening after a four-match losing streak.
The Cards took the doubles point with wins on courts one and three.
Juniors Josh Howard-Tripp and Alex Wesbrooks were the first pair to finish with a 6-3 win over Santiago Montufar and Max Mendelsohn (BC).
Sophomore Matthew Fung and junior Fabien Salle secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Boston College’s Max Montlagh and Sean Mullins.
Senior Tin Chen and junior Sergio Hernandez were up 5-1, but their match was left unfinished.
Rolling into singles, junior David Mizrahi secured a quick 6-1, 6-0 win over Montufar (BC).
Hernandez defeated Montlagh (BC) 6-3, 6-0, bringing the overall score to 3-0.
The match was decided on court three as Fabien Salle defeated Mendelsohn (BC) 6-3, 6-2.
Fung took down Mason Fung (BC) 6-1, 6-3 to tally another point to the overall score.
No. 71 Chen went into a third set against Boston College’s Mullins but managed another win for the Cards.
Boston College’s only win was on court four over Howard-Tripp.
The Cards host UNC on Friday, March 5 at 2 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
