According to a recent press release, an Australian ambassador is scheduled to lecture on campus for the McConnell Center’s Distinguished Speaker Series Oct. 22.

Ambassador Joe Hockey’s lecture is titled “Foreign Policy in the Trump Administration.”

Former treasurer of the Commonwealth of Australia has served in Washington since Jan. 2016 and has ties within the Trump administration.

In the press release, McConnell Center Director Gary Gregg said, “Hosting international visitors is always an enriching experience for us, but to bring someone with the accomplishments and influence of Ambassador Hockey to our community is unique and very exciting for us all.”

Since 1993 the McConnell Distinguished Speaker Series has hosted people from public life such as ambassadors, politicians and journalists.

The discussion starts at 10 a.m. and tickets are available at McConnellCenter.org.
