A longtime UNC Tarheel is bringing his talents to the U of L for his fifth year of eligibility, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
In a recent Instagram post, guard Seth Trimble shared a heartfelt message about his time at North Carolina.
“I’ve been considering returning to college the whole summer now, and Carolina was always in the running, but with a full roster at UNC, and other circumstances, I wont be able to return home and will be transferring,” he said.

In his last season with the Tarheels, Trimble averaged 14 points per game. In face, he increased his average in each of his four years in Chapel Hill.
Trimble’s most notable moment from the 2025-26 season was a game-winner against the rival Duke Blue Devils, one that capped an improbable comeback in UNC history.
Trimble joins an already-stacked Louisville roster that includes ESPN second-ranked transfer Flory Bidunga, No. 11 Jackson Shelstad, No. 60 Alvaro Folgueiras and No. 69 Karter Knox.
While it is still up in the air who will start full-time in the backcourt, Trimble will certainly bring even more veteran experience to the Cardinals’ roster.
