A day after U of L’s Board of Trustees was steps away from a vote of no confidence in President James Ramsey, trustee Robert Rounsavall has resigned from the board.

In yesterday’s heated meeting, Rounsavall did not make his stance on the upcoming vote known, nor did he mention the meeting in his resignation email. The full board will be voting on April 20.

“It has been my honor and privilege to serve this fine institution for almost six years as a trustee,” Rounsavall said in his resignation email to chair Larry Benz. “It is my hope that my resignation at this time, with only a few months left in my term, will allow the swift resolution of the litigation regarding board representation.”

Former trustee Paul Diaz resigned Feb. 6, leaving two open spots on the board.

The resignation was first reported by WHAS 11 during their 11 p.m. broadcast.
