President James Ramsey said U of L may be getting over a combined $14 million over the next two fiscal years in today’s board of trustees executive council meeting.

U of L, along with other Kentucky schools, are requesting a joint $86.7 million in performance funding from the Council on Postsecondary Education. If granted, it would represent a 50 percent restoration of state cuts since 2007-2008.

Benchmarks like degrees awarded and the amount of students taking 30+ hours a year will be used to determine if the money will be granted.
This year was the first in 10 years without a state cut to higher education. One speaker at the meeting said Governor Matt Bevin plans on making investments in infrastructure and education.
