Updated 12:47 p.m.: Students expecting a night of apprehension can sleep easy tonight: U of L announced classes will be canceled on Feb. 16.

“We knew there was a big storm coming and it would have been difficult for faculty and staff, as well as the students that commute to classes to get to campus today,” U of L spokesperson Mark Hebert said.

With a forecast stating consistent snowfall until 7 p.m, school could potentially be canceled on Tuesday as well.

“We’ll be keeping an eye out on the forecast, and will probably let people know by tonight whether or not school will be opened tomorrow,” Hebert said. “Watch your Twitter, Facebook or U of L homepage to stay in touch.”

For students on campus, the following facilities will be open:

SRC: Open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

SAC: Open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., but planned student activities will be canceled.

Ville Grille: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Nest: Noon to 6 p.m.

Wendy’s: Noon to 8 p.m.

Papa John’s: Noon to 8 p.m.
