Students who commute down I-65 in the morning may have noticed a new parking garage whose first few walls went up virtually overnight. The new parking facility belongs to The Clubhouse, a new, private off-campus housing development. The 758-bed, 271-unit building is scheduled to begin housing students in fall 2015.
Amenities at the property will include a 24-hour clubhouse, a game room, free wifi, picnic tables, a fitness center, a swimming pool with a shallow sun ledge, card-access parking, a firepit, a computer lab, outdoor grilling and lounge seating.
All resident rooms will include cable, a dishwasher, private bathrooms, granite countertops, walk-in closets, a full-size refrigerator, a washer and dryer, a microwave, cabinets and an oven. Floorplans range from one bed, one bath to four beds, four baths.
When asked how The Clubhouse will differ from other off-campus housing options, Vice President of Marketing Jessica Nix said, “First, we’re brand new bringing the greatest that student housing has to offer today. Next, our location is unique and will be very popular amongst students as we are so close to campus and the athletic facilities. Our housing amenities and features will offer students everything that they need to live healthy, have fun, and succeed in the classroom.”
The Clubhouse will be constructed and managed by Peak Campus, a nationwide student housing company. Peak Campus also owns two other properties in Kentucky: The Lex at the University of Kentucky and College Suites at Western Kentucky University.
Pricing for the apartments has not yet been released, but rates at The Lex start at $540 per month, whereas rates at College Suites start at $386 monthly.
