Sophomore Terrence Jennings and senior Jerry Smith, both members of the University of Louisville basketball team, were arrested early Sunday, Oct. 11 and booked into the Clark County Jail.

According to reports, the two players were involved in some sort of altercation during the U of L alumni homecoming party at Kye’s in Jeffersonville, Ind. Smith and Jennings have both been charged with resisting arrest.

Smith has been named co-captain, along with Edgar Sosa, for the 2009-2010 season. The senior averaged seven points and two rebounds a game last season. Jennings, who is expected to join the Cardinals starting lineup, averaged four points and two rebounds last season.

Coach Rick Pitino issued a statement saying that the matter will be handled internally. The Cards open practice on Friday, Oct. 16.
