‘Sex In The Dark’

Miss U of L, Ashley Miller,  will host a special event with free admission and food, March 3 at 7 p.m. This event brings awareness about common myths and misconceptions about sex in a FUN and INTERESTING way. Students must bring a student ID to participate. The event will take place at SAC Floyd Theater. 

Open House for U of L School of Public Health and Info Sciences

An open house will be held to showcase the renovation of the
old Home of the Innocents building to house the new home of the
University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information
Sciences on March 3, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Remarks at 5:30 p.m. The event will take

Nominate for U of L Student Awards Now

Each year the Division of Student Affairs coordinates the recognition of achievements made by our university students, student organizations, and advisers. Students, faculty and staff are given the opportunity to make nominations of students and student organizations deserving of recognition for the awards.
Information about the awards and nominations can be found at  www.louisville.edu/dos/studentawards.  Nominations are due by March 11. The Awards will be presented on April 13 at 7 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the SAC.

Orientation 2009: Attention RSO Leaders

All RSOs intending to have a booth at the CardsEXPO during orientation this summer will have to send a representative to the information session on one of the following dates: March 26 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., April 13, from noon-1 p.m., April 15, from 9-10 a.m.  All sessions will be held in SAC W303A.   Every RSO should be represented. LGBT represents Women in Community

Please join activists, scholars, students, artists and others in the second annual LGBT Voices at the Red Barn Tues., March 10 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This event seeks to help build a common voice of justice as we celebrate multiple perspectives in the LGBT movement. The night will feature spoken word, a digital storytelling project about Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, belly dancing by Taletha, and S.H.E.!, a women’s choreo-poetry group.  
Those in attendance will get the opportunity to talk with a broad coalition of groups and organizations that will be tabling this event. The first LGBT Voices event in 2007 gathered approximately 100 people, this year we hope to exceed this number. Light refreshments will be available.

New Recognition Program for Community Engagement

Provost Shirley Willihnganz announced the first annual recognition program for faculty, staff, students and community partners who are involved in outstanding community engagement service.
