Yet again, here is another editoral about the problems arising with the Cardinal Cards and meals. Yes, I was a person that ate at Papa John”s Pizza while this whole ‘ordeal’ was going on. I used my card about two weeks out of the two and half months that I was eating there, so I guess technically I was ‘taking advantage’ of the situation according to recent editorials.

But in order to take advantage of a situation, you must first know that it is happening. I, along with many other students I talked to, were completely unaware about the computer systems being down until it was published in the paper a couple weeks ago. Had I known, I probably wouldn”t have bothered using my card, mainly in the fear that I would to be overcharged due to computer glitches or some other unforseen problem.

Nothing may happen, I may have to pay those few extra dollars I owe, and I will do that. After all, I bought the food. But what makes me mad is that Chartwells is acting like the stud ents who happened to buy food at these restaurants were greedy and did it on purpose, which isn”t true.

The next time something is going to happen on campus that will be affecting the students, how about letting the students know! That would be really helpful and probably would eliminate MANY of the problems and complaints that have been occuring because of this.

In one respect, the students should have no reason to complain about having to pay, because if this had never happened, they would have had to pay in the beginning, but Chartwells also cannot complain about students who ‘took advantage’ of a situation they probably weren”t aware was even happening, especially if they had 600.00 on their account.

Next time, how about letting students know what”s going on with their finances and you will eliminate these problems that you have run into.
