SGA scholarships and budget to receive significant reductions

The Student Government Association will be cutting $26,636 of the $76,756 scholarship money used to pay for their officials in the 2010-2011 school year. As the saved money is for scholarships only, the extra funds will be able to provide scholarships for other students. Specific appropriations for the extra money have not been decided.  
"No one on SGA should be there for the money," said Executive Vice President Mike Dennis.


Tulip Tree brewer debated

The Tulip Tree Café in the Ekstrom Library might be going local with its products. The University of Louisville is deciding whether to replace the current supplier, Starbucks, with the local coffee business, Heine Brothers. This change is designed to not only help community business, but also promote fair trade and eco-friendly efforts that Heine Brothers are known to offer.

A typicial female cycle is 28 days. When the calender passes that date the seed of an unnecessary "what if" is often sown.
At 29 and 30 there's no need to worry, but the days are noticeably longer. During day 31, counting rendezvous against the fluctuating biological time table is a periodic calculation. Day 32 alarms a loud paranoia that must be silenced to continue daily tasks and not worry loved ones too early.


SNCC to bring awareness to campus and community

The University of Louisville Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) is providing a full week of service and awareness events for students to become involved in community purpose.
SNCC stands as an activism element of the U of L Cultural Center, who's intent is to bring about social justice efforts.
