Sitting across a gently scuffed wooden table, with ceiling fans slowly turning overhead and the smell of pastries in the air, the Old Louisville Coffeehouse feels more like a neighbor’s kitchen than a coffee shop. With its warm, inviting atmosphere, the coffeehouse serves as a retreat from the usual campus spots for students searching for a quiet place to relax.
“With all that we have to offer, I want this place to be known as more than just a coffee shop,” said Pamela Campbell, co-owner of Old Louisville Coffeehouse and graduate from U of L. “We stay involved with the local community and provide an outlet for musicians, clubs and organizations.”
Among the several weekly events hosted at the coffeehouse are free massages from massage therapist Dave Collins from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, and music from the U of L Jazz Ensemble from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
