A new place to call a Cardinal home

In only 607 days, the University of Louisville men's and women's basketball teams will have a new address on Main Street, Second Street, Third Street and River Road.  Early November 2010 is the scheduled completion date for the new downtown arena the Cardinals will call home.


Who should benefit from booze tax?

Local businesses and restaurants are dealing with a tough situation in many Kentucky counties.
A bill was recently passed to place higher taxes on cigarettes and alcohol in Kentucky which will in turn help with U of L's budget deficit. This raised a big question in my mind. Will the additional tax be redistributed amongst the entire state, or just those counties who sell it? The answer I found was a bit unsettling.


Senior night: set to play last home game

Before almost every University of Louisville men's basketball home game, the team goes through the same game day itinerary each time. However, tomorrow the Cardinals will experience a slight mix-up as seniors Terrence Williams, Andre McGee and Will Scott will step onto Denny Crum court for the final time in their collegiate career to be honored for their contributions to the program prior to senior night against Seton Hall.


Student KEES money safe: for now

In a time of economic uncertainty, students receiving KEES funding can rest assured their money is safe, for now.
The Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship is a state-funded merit-based financial aid program which guarantees students up to $2500 a year to offset the cost of an in-state college education.


Editorial: Students should excercise their right to vote in SGA elections

It is that time again, time for student's to take advantage of their right to vote, their right to be heard and to take responsibility for how they are being represented.
In November, a record breaking number of college students went to the booths to cast their vote in a presidential election that will go down in history in more ways than one.
Is it too much to hope those same students will step up and cast their votes for the very important positions of Student Government President, Academics Vice-President, Services Vice-President and Executive Vice-President?

Future University of Louisville students and their parents can get a crash course on how to apply for financial aid Tues., March 10, from 6 p.m.- 9 p.m. in the Horn Auditorium, College of Business.
