There is a new store in town that people have been talking about: Bermuda Highway Boutique. The owners, Katie Toupin of the band Houndmouth and Addie Mills, have a passion in music and seek to portray their creativity by “uniting music with fashion.”

Bermuda Highway partners with multiple local music and clothing stores, including Guitar Emporium, Doo Wop Shop and Louie Lou Clothing. One feature this store has that makes it unique from its competitors is the artist-curated section where local and nationally touring artists have direct and exclusive month long residency.

“I love their clothing. They have items you won’t find anywhere else,” U of L student Anthony Keenan said. “On top of that, they promote awesome upcoming bands which has been fun to keep up with. I have supported them since day one and will continue to.”

The store also writes press releases on their website on the chosen “Artist of the Month,” which many supporters follow. They also host fun events for people to stop in and enjoy. To add to that, they show appreciation to loyal customers by having an online rewards system.

“The clothing they have wasn’t originally my style. But I stopped in when they were having an event and loved the culture. I then found out about the online rewards program and now wear their stuff all the time” said Sam Filiatreau, a local musician.

The store is located at 811 E Market St. and is open every day of the week. They encourage everyone to stop in and check out their selection on new and vintage clothing.
