It’s important to take advantage of your Cardinal Card. Being a student in college often  means that you have to watch what you spend on clothes and food, among other things. Some places are kind enough to offer a student discount–usually you just have to ask. Here is a list of popular places that offer a student discount or deal with a valid card.

Popular chain restaurants usually offer some sort of deal for students, whether it’s a free drink or a certain percentage off. Although it varies by location, here are some of the restaurants that accept student cards as a discount:

Apple- starts at 5 percent (Be on the lookout for special offers they make throughout the year– often a free item is included with a student’s purchase.)

Sony- 10 percent with online registration

Amazon Student- 50 percent off Prime (includes free two-day shipping and streaming TV shows and movies)

 

Entertainment:

Cinemark- special student discount tickets

College events- Baseball, field hockey, lacrosse, softball, swimming and tennis games at home are free for students! Special deals are sometimes available for other games.

Louisville Zoo- this one is for people who aren’t from Louisville. You have to visit at least nce and you get a discounted ticket!

 

Travel:

Greyhound- 20 percent

 

Books/Magazines:

Entertainment Weekly- $5 off yearly subscription

Wall Street Journal- $1 per week for 15 weeks

 

Insurance:

A lot of bigger insurance companies, like All-State, Geico and State Farm offer a nice discount for having good grades. Check with your insurance to find out how much you can save.
