The University of Louisville women’s basketball team improved to 3-0 on the year after a 95-35 throttling of Belmont on Thursday night at the KFC YUM! Center.

The sixty point margin is the eighth largest victory in program history.

Louisville trailed 10-9 after the first four minutes, but went on a 24-0 run over the next nine minutes to take control of the game.

Freshman Mariya Moore continued her hot start, scoring 13 of her game high 17 points in the first half.

Sara Hammond scored 13 points and to go along with seven rebounds.

Fellow senior Shawnta Dyer scored 12 points, shooting 5-of-5 from the field.

A stark difference from last year’s team, the Cardinals scored 60 points in the paint.  Forwards Myisha Hines-Allen and Emmonnie Henderson both finished with 12 points.

After hitting two three pointers in the first two minutes, Belmont was disoriented offensively for the rest of the night, accumulating 34 turnovers.  Louisville scored 48 points off of the Belmont turnovers.
