A Panamanian high school student won a scholarship to U of L Panama this month when he received MVP honors in a tournament sponsored in part by the school. After 12 weeks of back-to-back games Instituto Justo Arosemena, a local public school in Panama, won the Mas Movil high schools men championship cup. The final score was 81-39 against la Academia Interamericana de Panama.

Twelve local high school teams in Panama competed for the Mas Movil Cup.  

The MVP from Insituto Justo Arosemena was awarded a full scholarship and is expected to apply on campus in Panama when he graduates. The tournament was sponsored by the University of Louisville in Panama.
 

The tournament honored Frank “Grillo” Holness a Panamanian basketball player that led the national team to three gold medallions.

Panama, despite having a population of approximately three million habitants, is investing in growing talent in basketball through new initiatives like the Mas Movil tournament.
