There haven’t been many games when coach Jeff Walz has been able to freely play his five freshmen that made up the nation’s top-rated recruiting class, but on Ugly Sweater Night at the KFC YUM! Center, ten Cardinals scored and Louisville defeated Dartmouth 94-52 to improve to 5-5.

Myisha Hines-Allen notched her second consecutive double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. Briahanna Jackson scored 14 points and hit four of six three-pointers.

After Louisville’s 18 point comeback victory against IUPUI on Sunday, Walz said he hasn’t had the opportunity to play the five freshmen, but he subbed in the entire group midway through the first quarter against Dartmouth with the Cardinals leading 6-2.

All five freshmen played over ten minutes, Sam Fuehring led the way with 14 points on six of 11 shooting. Asia Durr scored 12 points and made two three-pointers. Erin DeGrate tied her career-high with 10 points, she also pulled down nine rebounds.

“Offensively, we did a pretty good job,” Walz said, but he was critical about the team’s defensive effort once again.

Dartmouth went 17 of 44 (38.6%) from the field, but Louisville did total 13 steals.

No player played over 24 minutes and all eleven players appeared for at least 10 minutes or more.

Dakota Weatherford scored her first career points as Cardinal and finished with eight points on three of four shooting from the field.

Louisville travels to Cookeville, Tennessee to face Tennessee Tech on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
