A disappointing 2008 football season, an incomplete Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the uncertainty over a starting quarterback have left the Louisville fans seemingly without a remedy for the 2009 season. However, many U of L students are still anxiously awaiting the season's kickoff for one reason: tailgating.


Duel threat at running back

Reigning Big East Freshman of the Year Victor Anderson looks to continue to put up numbers worthy of All Big East,  beginning Sept. 5 against Indiana State.   
Anderson, who rushed for 1,047 yards on 183 carries last season, will be no. 1 on the Cardinals' depth chart at running back, the most experienced position on the team.

"Inglourious Basterds" is a film more than a decade in the making. Director Quentin Tarantino spent much of his career writing and rewriting the script, and it definitely shows. Inglourious Basterds really is Tarantino at his best, a description which probably repulses as many as it draws in.

As college football fans across the country anxiously await another exciting season of action, the University of Louisville football team will open its third season under head coach Steve Kragthorpe. The Cardinals kick off the 2009 season against Indiana State University on Sept. 5 at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

In the book "Uncommon: Finding Your Path to Significance," Tony Dungy, former coach of the Indianapolis Colts, writes to inspire young men not to be just amazing athletes on the football field, but to be valued members of society. This offseason the University of Louisville football team took time to experience what Dungy was teaching and the receivers found a bond to help bring them together.

Return of the returner

Bang. Bang. Bang.
Just one year ago, University of Louisville senior wide receiver Trent Guy heard those sounds echo 19 times as he walked through the parking garage of a local nightclub in the early morning last July.  Fortunately for him, only one of those shots hit him.
"An inch to the right it would have hit my spine, an inch to the left it would have hit a vital organ," Guy said.
