Brohm-less Cardinals win in Manhattan

The University of Louisville Cardinals began a five to six week stretch without quarterback Brian Brohm on Saturday beating Kansas State 24-6. Backup quarterback, Hunter Cantwell, completed 18 of 26 passes for 173 yards while the Cardinal rushing attack ran for over 200 yards.

Field Hockey Head coach Pam Bustin and the women's field hockey team swept the competition in their two-game weekend trip to Syracuse. Friday's game featured a match up with the hosting Orange as the Cards took down the home team 5-2. Louisville got right out of the gate with a 13-3 shot advantage in the first half.

Library celebrates banned books week

The Ekstrom Library is currently hosting its annual Banned Books Week, which will continue through Fri., Sept. 29, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the front and back entrances of the library. The event is to promote the freedom to read. University of Louisville students, as well as other volunteers, have the chance to read their favorite banned book from the American Library Association's "Top 100 List of Challenged Books.

Propaganda distracts young voters from real issues

Around election time, young adults are bombarded with slogans such as "Rock the Vote," "Choose or Lose," and my personal favorite "Vote or Die." According to entertainment mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and the rest of the MTV crowd, electoral participation is not only awesome, but if young people don't vote, they risk losing rights, privileges or even their lives.

Facebook findings leave swimmer high, dry

On Louisiana State University's campus, swimmer Eddie Kenney, and a fellow teammate were shocked when their actions on Facebook.com, a social networking site, landed them in hot water, due to the invasion of their network privacy. In May 2005, both were dismissed from the swim team once athletic officials found they were members of a Facebook group that posted negative comments about the team's coaches.

Student radio station, studio get makeover

Since the spring of 2005, WLCV, the University of Louisville's student radio station, has been almost completely shut down. The station has been and is still undergoing a makeover not just physically, but structurally as well. One major change is that the group now has an advisor, David Horar.
