This past week, the residents and staff of Miller Hall held a dedication ceremony for a Peace Pole, a monument that sits outside the dorm bearing the words, "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in English, Spanish, Japanese, and Arabic. The message behind the Peace Poll certainly speaks volumes and represents a message that every member of the University of Louisville community should hold in high regard.

If anyone attended a University of Louisville men's basketball game a few years ago, they probably remember chanting "LUUUUUUUUKE" every time Luke Whitehead pulled down a rebound or put one through the hoop for the Cards. During football season, most Louisville fans can't say they've left Papa John's Cardinal Stadium without yelling "Cards first down" after the public address (PA) announcer says, "That's good for another.

Tennis walk-on bounces back after surgery

Megan Helton is one of the newest additions to the University of Louisville women's tennis team. Although she isn't making a huge splash on the court, she has made a remarkable recovery in the past months from when she was confined to a wheel chair recovering from a surgery to remove a brain tumor.

U of L hockey team skates into new season

Louisville hockey is back. After a year absence at U of L, the team has rebounded and is now in the process of rebuilding the organization. Earlier this semester, team captain, Brian Block, started posting flyers on campus. Less than two weeks after the flyers went up, the team had their first meeting and decided to get involved in the Louisville Adult Hockey Association as a C-plus league team.

Women's soccer splits weekend play The No. 21 Louisville women's soccer team finished up regular season play over the weekend, splitting their final two conference games. Friday's match up featured seniors Amy Seng and Jaime Craft pacing the Cards to a 1-0 defeat of Big East foe Seton Hall.

The University of Louisville Block Party and Foam Part are among the most popular and largest festivities held during Homecoming Week. Carnival rides, inflatables and ample food highlighted the annual Block Party, which took place Oct. 12, hosted by the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Student Activities Board (SAB).
