Budget cuts force hiring freeze

The University of Louisville has been ordered by Gov. Steve Beshear to cut its budget by three percent through the end of this fiscal year, ending on June 30. U of L's cuts are part of state-wide cuts, after Beshear announced a state budget shortfall of $434 million.

The University of Louisville pep band has come a long way, but there is still work to be done. As I sat in Conseco Field House watching the Cardinals take on Purdue University, I remember catching a glimpse of the two pep bands. Purdue's student pep band was on their feet cheering on the Boilermakers, while our geriatric version, was sitting down waiting for their next opportunity to play something from VH1's list of Awesomely Bad songs.

Myles heads to NFL

Junior Louisville linebacker Lamar Myles has declared himself eligible for the June NFL draft and has signed with an agent. Myles was named second team All Big-East and led the Cardinals in tackles this past season with 128. "The time is right for me to move on to the NFL," Myles said in a statement on 790 WKRD.
