Love: It used to be that students showed up to class, took exams, and got their grades back during class at the teacher's leisure. Thanks to Blackboard, those days are long gone. Now, students can become even more active participants in their own education, taking practice exams, reviewing class slides, and analyzing their own grades, assignment by assignment.

All words of which many University of Louisville students could use a better definition, according to Sharon LaRue, director of Prevention, Education, and Advocacy on Campus and in the Community. According to LaRue, PEACC has seen an average of 18 reports of sexual assault per year since 2002, with numbers reaching as high as 30 in 2005.

Love: University administrators and student government officials have worked together to improve commuter student services as well as provide ample amenities for U of L's largest demographic in order to enhance their collegiate experience. Kudos to Barbara King and the employees of Commuter Student Services, located in Davidson Hall, for their work in improving commuter services and attempting to better understand an often underrepresented and unappreciated group of students.

Review: Film blind to original vision

"The Eye," a remake of the Chinese horror film "Jian Gui," is the story of Sydney Wells, played by Jessica Alba, a blind violinist, who undergoes corneal transplant surgery so that she can regain her vision. Just as Sydney begins to get used to having vision, she starts catching glimpses of strange shadowy images and frightening scenes.

University of Louisville fans will get a chance to show the nation why Louisville is "the best college sports town in America" this Saturday, as ESPN's Rece Davis hosts College GameDay at Freedom Hall. "It's an honor to have them come to your school, because they don't go everywhere," said U of L Associate Athletic Director/Marketing Representative Kyle Moats.

Take away the shirt and tie and add some snake skin pants and a neon sign and voila, I know what it's like to be a fan again. The '80s theme at the Rutgers University game reminded me of my high school days, when being a part of the student section was an honor and as much an event as anything that was happening on the hardwood.
