As the University of Louisville opens its new cultural center on July 1, several jobs in the office of Multicultural Academic Enrichment Programs will fall by the wayside. According to Vice President for Communications and Marketing John Drees, the new center will serve as an upgrade to MAEP, located inside the Office of Minority Affairs, and its employees will be removed from their positions.

Each time it rains hard, Threlkeld Hall resident Luke Spicer needs to carry an umbrella both indoors as well as outdoors. According to Spicer, bad weather causes leakage in Threlkeld and garbage cans must be put out to catch the falling water. The same can be said for Unitas Tower, where a leak in the ceiling splashes water down onto a pool table in the building's lobby.

Ramsey holds tuition forum, discusses nine percent increase

University of Louisville President Dr. James R. Ramsey announced a possible nine percent tuition increase at a tuition forum in Floyd Theater of the Student Activities Center today. According to Ramsey, the nine percent hike is due in large part to Gov. Steve Beshear's proposed three percent cut to higher education funding, which will result in 10 million less dollars for the university.
