With just 40 seconds left in the game, the University of Louisville men's basketball team was up by only two points. Senior point guard Andre McGee stepped up to the line for two crucial free throws.
Although the team had been struggling from the line all game, McGee was confident. He coolly sank both free throws, helping the Cards to a 74-67 exhibition win over Georgetown College.

The Keg of Nails will be up for grabs when the University of Louisville battles Cincinnati on Friday at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
Conference standings aside, this is a game that tends to bring the best out of both teams.
"It's a big rivalry for us," senior center Eric Wood, Cincinnati native, said before last season's game. "I grew up watching it and a lot of times I was on the other end because my Dad went to Cincinnati, but now I hate Cincinnati."

Friday's University of Louisville football game against Cincinnati is big for many reasons.
It's a conference game for a team that would seemingly appear to be on the bubble post-season play. Winning this game could go a long way in determining if Louisville is playing anywhere in late December or sitting at home.
This is also Louisville's best chance at snatching a win in their last three games. West Virginia has rebounded from a tough start to the season, while playing at Rutgers is always going to be dangerous.

Marriage may seem like an event in the distant future to many University of Louisville students but, for some of their peers, being married is the reality.
Similarly, it may seem as if being a college student would make a marriage more difficult, presenting situations and circumstances that are far from the ideal concept of marriage. Senior English major Rachel Huff, who has been married for two years to junior English major Andrew Huff, however, didn't let that kind of thinking stop her from embracing matrimony.

Four artists, each with their own distinct voice, have assembled together at the University of Louisville to cry out against the horrors of war; each outcry is on display in the Rare Books and Special Collections department in the Ekstrom Library through November.
Under the guidance of curators Nancy Howell Koehler and Delinda Buie, these artists have found a means in which to convey their message of peace and respect to the university.

What made the election of the president of the United States so special was not only the president who was elected, but the number of youth who participated in getting Barack Obama into office.
According to the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement, approximately 24 million 18-29 year olds cast ballots in the 2008 election, a turnout rate of 54.5 percent.

Thank you, America, for once again proving that I, as a gay man am a second-class citizen, and I'm in fact not created equal.
Last Tuesday, Arizona, California and Florida passed a constitutional ban on gay marriage, stating that marriage was to be between one man and one woman. They joined 26 other states that have laws written in their state constitutions, including Kentucky.
