With only a couple more weeks left until I graduate, I've found myself reflecting quite often on my years at the University of Louisville. I've taken a large variety of classes and have met so many people along the way, yet the memories that stick out the most to me are the ones that involve U of L sports.


STI month encourages students to be tested

April is Sexually Transmitted Infections awareness month according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. This annual observance raises understanding about the impact of sexually transmitted infections that alter the health of Americans and the importance of discussing sexual health with healthcare providers and sexual partners.
In honor of STI awareness month,  tomorrow, April 22, at Campus Health Services on the Belknap Campus from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., there will be free HIV testing.


Students and professors put ‘Ideas to Action’

FINALS BLITZ helps students prepare and review for final exams

With finals right around the corner, REACH is holding final exam review sessions. Each session will include free study energy snacks. Also, they will give tips for preparing for finals and test-taking skills. FINALS BLITZ will be held until April 29. The test reviews include around 40 courses within the 100, 200 and 300 level. Strickler Hall, Ekstrom Library and residence halls are some of the locations the study sessions will be held. For the complete schedule of courses and information, visit reach.louisville.edu.

U of L did not violate Open Records Act

The question was presented in an appeal to the Kentucky Attorney General's office, as to whether U of L had violated the Open Records Act in failing to respond to Bruce M Tyler's records request.
In a decision by Attorney General Jack Conway on April 17, it was decided that the University of Louisville did not violate Open Records Act in failing to respond to requests that were unsuccessfully transmitted to a nonexistent email account.  Because requests did not reach the university, no error can be assigned to it.
Tyler's requests were directed to an incorrect e-mail address and therefore were undeliverable. 


Senate Bill 68

In early March, Kentucky Senator Gary Tapp escorted Senate Bill 68 to the committee, and had it passed legislation, it would have prevented unmarried, cohabitating couples from fostering children in Kentucky.
