Homecoming King and Queen voting is now open for all students and closes on October 16th at 11:45 p.m. As of Friday, 825 students have voted.

Students can pick their top 3 choices via Engage. The top 5 candidates will be announced during the Cardinal Cookout at the Red Barn Plaza on Oct. 19th.

From 32 to 20

The criteria the judges based their initial selections on for the first round of nominees included campus involvement or leadership, the platform of the student, community engagement, school spirit, and how well they could verbalize their responses.

When considering your choices among the 20 candidates, SAB’s Director of Marketing Rebekah Masih recommends being mindful of a few key factors, including what organizations they’re involved in and the details of their platform.

“Homecoming is a long-lasting and loved tradition here at U of L. Homecoming is full of traditions that occur every year like our Lip Sync Battle, Tailgates and Cookouts, Comedy Show, Step Show, and more,” she said.

“These traditions foster school spirit, connections between alumni and current students, celebration of the university’s history, and most importantly- the Homecoming Football Game. This is sentimental for many and provides an opportunity to keep building the U of L Community.”

Homecoming week goes from October 23rd to 28th and is capped off by Louisville football’s game against Duke, where the winner will be announced during halftime. The week’s events are listed below.
