The University of Louisville Cardinals had a big 3-1 win on Saturday over conference foe Syracuse to improve their record to 18-7 on the season and 10-1 in the Big East. 
Louisville was led in this victory by sophomore middle blocker Brooke Mattingly who had a career-high 14 kills and two blocks.
Syracuse won the first set after attaining an early 11-5 lead.

In the second set the Cardinals jumped to a 17-11 lead despite their rough start in the first set. The Orange responded by closing the gap to 18-17 but the Cards answered back with a 25-21 win.

Louisville carried the momentum they had gained in the second set in to the third and grabbed a 9-0 run lead early en route to a 25-11 win in the second set.

Despite the Orange’s attempts at a comeback in the fourth set, UofL managed to pull away towards the end of the set with a final score of 25-18. Lola Arslanbekova was a huge part of the Cards winning the game. She set a match-high of 16 kills one of which was the game winning kill. The team went on to sweep Marquette on Sunday.
