According to Vice Provost Dale Billingsley, the Provost has requested that the senior staff draft a formal proposal in the issue of adding two weeks to the academic year in 2012. The proposal, which will be presented at a November Council of Academic Officers meeting, will recommend five minutes be added to classes “across the board.”
Department deans will review and comment on the proposal at the meeting, although Billingsley said a final decision will not be made then.
He said he anticipates a decision will be announced before Thanksgiving break.
