1. Dawes and Blitzen Trapper

Indie folk rock giants Blizten Trapper and Dawes will be playing on Oct. 20 at Headliners Music Hall. Both bands released new albums in September to critical acclaim, Blitzen Trapper’s “American Goldwing,” and Dawes’ “Nothing is Wrong.” Doors open at 8 p.m. and the show begins at 9 p.m. -Lee Cole

2. ‘Nosferatu’
Oct. 19 | 7PM, $5
Attention all horror movie fans: MINI of Louisville Live at the Clifton Center is showing “Nosferatu” – A Wild & Woolly Film Series Event. “Nosferatu” will be playing Wed, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. This 1922 German classic silent film is free of admission for members of the Friends of the Clifton Center and $5 for the general public. – Josphine Lee

3. Brightside Cleanup Day
Oct. 22 | 8AM-12PM
Brightside Cleanup Day is a community-wide event that helps to clean up Louisvill. Registration is required and volunteers will be given gloves and bags to collect trash. Cleanup Day will occur between 8 am and 12 pm on Saturday October 22 throughout the city. – Anna Meany

4. Farm to Table Dinner
Oct. 20 | 6PM, $15.50
As a part of Sustainability Week, Sodexo will be sponsoring a four-course, family-style meal, composed entirely of local dishes. Each course will be served on dishes made by students in the Ceramic Art Organization at U of L. The meal is open to the public and will be served on the patio of the Ville Grille on Oct. 20. 5. 40/40 Exhibit
Oct. 14-Nov. 13 | 9AM-4:30PM, free
The Guy Mendes 40/40 exhibit will run from Oct. 14 through Nov. 13 at the Hite Galleries in Schneider Hall. A documentary photography symposium will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 with the opening reception beginning that same evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The display is an exhibition of the photographic art and work of Guy Mendes. 40/40 is curated by Phillip March Jones, organized by Institute 193 and sponsored by UK Arts in Healthcare. – Aaron Williams

6. Congressman Yarmuth
Oct. 18th | 6PM-8PM, free
On Tuesday Oct. 18, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. students will have an opportunity to attend a speech by Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth. Yarmuth will speak for approximately 45 minutes and there will be a question and answer session following. The event is being held at the Brandeis School of Law inside of the Allen Courtroom and is sponsored by the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law Student Chapter of the American Constitution Society. Come out for a conversation with the congressman. – Nathan Gardner
