A potential threat at U of L’s Speed Art Museum led to students and faculty avoiding the area for over an hour this morning.

Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said a “nonspecific threat” led U of L to calling LMPD to the Speed Art Museum this morning. LMPD completed a sweep of the building with bomb dogs and found nothing.

U of L sent out a Rave alert around 8:30 a.m. saying ULPD and LMPD were on the scene and to avoid the area. A second alert said the area was secure around 9:45 a.m.
