Everyone likes a little extra cash in their pockets and it’s easier to achieve than most would lead you to think.
We all like to splurge, whether it be on our favorite food, clothing, or even technology. And if you know where to look, earning a little extra to do so can be easy and even fun.
Over the last few months I’ve taken to the web to find the following survey site and an app or two to put a little extra cash in your wallet.
Toluna
My personal favorite, the mother of all survey sites. It’s free to sign up, requires you to download absolutely no software, and the payout offers you a decent selection of options in the form of gift cards. The card values range from ten to fifty dollars toward popular stores and restaurants.
Some of these include Sephora, Gamestop, Best Buy, Cheesecake Factory, and Starbucks. There is never a shortage of surveys and your options inform you of the content and time requirements. Racking up points is easy if you’re consistently active and I find it best to do while watching a movie or TV.
Poshmark/Vinted
Exclusively for women, they are available in the app store for both iPhones and Android as well as on the web. I find them to be a more modern and better paying version of Plato’s Closet. You can simply be a buyer, finding brand name items you like either new or used and haggle for them. Or you can upload images of your own clothes to sell or even trade. Poshmark is a more upscale version, featuring brands such as Michael Kors and Coach. Vinted on the other hand carries anything. Poshmark also allows non-clothing items (like videogames and movies) and has one flat shipping rate.
Over a four month period I was able to redeem 3 gift cards using Toluna, made $125 on Vinted, $60 on Poshmark, and traded at least half of my closet for new or barely used brand name items.
