U of L announced that 16 students and alumni won prestigious academic awards this morning. Among the awards were eight U.S. Student Fulbright Awards, bringing U of L’s total Fulbrights since 2003 to 87.

Here’s some information on each of the Fulbright winners for 2015:

-Ariel Stenger, a 2012 graduate, will teach in Thailand.

-Sirena Wurth, a 2013 graduate, will teach in Bulgaria.

-Morgan Blair, a 2014 graduate, will teach in Turkey.

-Zerlina Bartholomew, a graduating senior, will do research in Morocco.

-Paige Brewer, a graduating senior, will teach in Kazakhstan.

-Lashawn Ford, a graduating senior, will do research in England.

-Lila Lutfi, a graduating senior, will do research in the United Arab Emirates.

-Graduate student Allison Fried will teach in Spain.

Additional awards announced included Critical Language Scholarships, English-Speaking Union scholarships and prizes for international travel sponsored by U of L’s College of Arts and Sciences.
