University police arrested an 18-year-old Louisville man early Wednesday who broke into Bettie Johnson Hall, damaged the room and assaulted the room’s occupant.

Jason Rippy, 18, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. on charges of burglary, criminal mischief and assault.

The victim, an unnamed female, was struck in the face by Rippy.  In addition, furniture, a TV set and the building’s fire alarm were damaged in the burglary.

No Rave Alert was released due to the quick arrest.

Rippy is set to be arraigned on Jan. 8.
