The University of Louisville men's intrasquad scrimmage took place Friday night at Cardinal Arena. In the coming out party for the 2006-2007 basketball team, the Red squad beat the White squad 85-77. The Cardinals took a few lumps when Juan Palacios, Terrance Farley, Andre McGee and Chris Current all went out with minor injuries.

Louisville teens continue to be victimized by street crime

Another teenager, Darryl Head, 17, was shot and killed last week in the notorious Victory Park area in Louisville's West End. According to the Courier-Journal, nearly one-third of Louisville's forty-six homicides this year have been under age 21. What makes Head's murder even more heartbreaking was that he was trying to avoid the traps of "the streets.

Play brings diversity to campus

The second of four plays to be presented at the University of Louisville this academic year, "King Hedley II," had its opening last Wed., Oct. 25, at the Thrust Theatre. The drama, written by the late African-American playwright, August Wilson, offers, at least on the surface, a glimpse into the poverty-stricken lives of a black American family in the 1980's.

War in Iraq possibly causing more problems than it prevents

Spreading democracy. Eliminating sources of terrorism. Removing an evil regime. Regardless of one's opinion on whether or not the U.S. should have invaded Iraq, it is hard to argue with these reasons. Against the war and skeptical that these were even the real reasons we were going to Iraq, I bit my tongue and supported our troops hoping that, regardless of the administration's intent, Iraq would become a safer, democratic society, complete with the freedoms we enjoy.

The No. 26 University of Louisville men's tennis doubles team of seniors Slavko Radman and Damar Johnson finished runner up in the ITA Midwest Regional on Tuesday at the University of Minnesota. Radman and freshman, David Simon, also advanced to the quarterfinals of single action during the tournament.
