The Tulip Tree Café in the Ekstrom Library might be going local with its products. The University of Louisville is deciding whether to replace the current supplier, Starbucks, with the local coffee business, Heine Brothers. This change is designed to not only help community business, but also promote fair trade and eco-friendly efforts that Heine Brothers are known to offer.

For Chris Prentice, gambling has become too comfortable and familiar to exhilarate him in quite the same way as it once did.

March is the time for a tournament that crowns a national champion after the madness settles. It is a time for champions to prove themselves on a national stage, and reap the benefits of their hard winter training, and indoor track and field is no stranger to this.
On March 13, in College Station, Texas, University of Louisville sophomore D'Ana McCarty won the 2009 Women's NCAA Weight Throw Championship. McCarty's win was the first women's title in school history for track and field. Her win gave the Cards their third Track & Field National Title in the last three years.


Students spent their spring breaks helping others

While some students migrated south to the beach, others headed in less predictable directions, soaking in community service instead of sun rays.
The Alternative Spring Breaks offered this year, were coordinated in a variety of ways, according to Pam Curtis director and Kim Shaver service learning coordinator.  Both are part of the Civic Engagement, Leadership and Service Office.


Student expelled for MySpace blog postings

SGA makes major changes to student ticket lottery process

Around this time every year, hundreds of eager University of Louisville students participate in the student ticket lottery process in hopes of getting tickets and the best seats possible to watch the Cardinal home football and men's basketball games.
Last year, students were required to meet up with their friends at a Cardinal baseball game at Jim Patterson Stadium to sign up with one of the groups of 25. Some students stayed around until the end to hear their number called and where they would be sitting, while others left. Students were then required to attend the football spring game to check-in and pay for their tickets.

Students entering the IT Center from the south side of campus have been greeted by a wall of translucent tarps and construction equipment for the spring semester as the Miller Information Technology Center has undergone major renovations to accommodate McAlister's Select.
