LMPD arrested 18-year-old Zion White Thursday evening in connection with an Aug. 23 shooting at U of L’s Family Scholar House. He is charged with two counts of murder, with one being labeled domestic violence.
White is alleged to have committed the shooting that killed Iyanna Warr and Trinity Durham, both 20-year-old mothers residing at the nonprofit Family Scholar House.
The shooting took place just before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23 in the 400 block of Reg Smith Circle. Both women were pronounced dead on the scene by EMS from gunshot wounds.
This is not White’s first time in trouble with the law. He was previously charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors at the age of 17. Those charges included kidnapping a minor, first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree terroristic threatening and possession of a handgun by a minor.
He was admitted to a home incarceration program in November 2025, and was alleged to have violated the terms of the HIP at least seven times the following December.
White was arraigned Friday morning. His bond was set at $500,000 and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. on Oct. 2.
