Chris Jones set a new career high with 11 assists as Louisville defeated Virginia Tech 78-63 on Tuesday night at the KFC Yum! Center.

Along with his assists, Jones added seven points playing a team-high of 30 minutes.

“He was into getting people good shots and running the team,” Louisville head coach Rick Pitino said.

Mangok Mathiang benefited from the senior point guard’s passing, scoring 11 points and pulling in eight rebounds.

Louisville (15-2) extended their 43-24 halftime to lead to as large as 29 points in the second half to improve to 3-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Terry Rozier scored a team-high of 16 points.

Wayne Blackshear added 15 points and six rebounds.

Sixth ranked Louisville will face fourth ranked Duke on Saturday at noon.
