Sara Hammond and Myisha Hines-Allen led Louisville to a 67-55 victory over Virginia to remain unbeaten in Atlantic Coast Conference play on Sunday at the KFC YUM! Center.

Hammond scored 16 of the Cardinals (17-1) first 20 points in the first half and finished with 20 points and nine rebounds.

“I just want to start off strong and not get into foul trouble and get a flow going,” Hammond said. “For me to get that going, it kind of got my confidence going.”

Hines-Allen did her damage in the second half, scoring 15 of her 17 points after intermission.

Louisville scored 52 points in the paint, primarily attributed to tremendous ball movement.  The Cardinals had 21 assists on 28 made field goals while only turning the ball over five times.

“I thought we passed the ball extremely well,” Louisville head coach Jeff Walz said. ” I thought overall this was possibly one of the best games we’ve played this year.”
