Louisville (6-2) defeated N.C. State 30-18 Saturday afternoon at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

 

Dyer Needs

Michael Dyer started today and finished with his first 100 yard game as a Cardinal.  The senior running back ran for 174 yards on 24 carries including a 46 yard touchdown run with 44 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Dyer is fourth running back this season to eclipse the 100 yard mark, joining L.J. Scott, Dominique Brown, and Brandon Radcliff.

After missing the first seven games with a broken bone in his foot, DeVante Parker made  his season debut Saturday.  The senior wide receiver tied his career high with nine receptions for 132 yards.

QB1

Will Gardner started at quarterback for the first time in nearly a month.  Gardner completed 21 of 36 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns.  Reggie Bonnafon appeared at quarterback in a power run package and had two rushes for 13 yards.

After winning the coin toss and electing to receive, the Cardinals opened with an eight play 75 yard drive capped off by a 13 yard touchdown catch by Eli Rogers.

17 Quarters

The defenses gave up its first touchdown in 17 quarters when N.C. State scored late in the first quarter.  Louisville gave up 351 yards of total offense, including 128 rushing yards.

As time expired in the fourth quarter, Gerod Holliman intercepted Jacoby Brissett’s pass in the back of the end zone.  The junior safety is leading the nation with eight interceptions.
