University of Louisville students in Panama are making the last preparations for the 8th annual Panama International Forum to be held this week.  The October 16-17 forum unites high school delegations from throughout the region to discuss different international issues.

From the Security Council to the Asamblea Nacional de Diputados de Panama (National Assembly of Panama), the Panama International Forum is designed to challenge common reasoning and promote critical thinking following a UN format by integrating current topics with crisis situations.

US Ambassador John Farrar will be attending the event to address the delegates and meet with the US representatives on their positioning and strategy.
In addition to the forum, University of Louisville students train local high school students in the month before the debate through a series of pre-conference workshops.
This year’s executive board is led by Secretary General Luis Castillo.

The Panama International Forum will be held in Panama City, Panama at Quality Leadership University. The debate is bilingual. This year delegates will develop resolutions on the Nuclear Tensions between Isreal and Iran in 2017, the Untaxed Market and Grey Economics: The Perils of Tax Evasion, Illegal Organ Trafficking, Repression on the right of free expression in America, and Decentralizing the power in Panama.
