According to a U of L news release, University of Louisville College of Business dean, Charlie Moyer, will be stepping down in July 2013, a position he has held since 2005.

Moyer, 66, plans to take a one-year sabbatical to study corporate governance and entrepreneurial finance before he returns as the college’s dean emeritus and a faculty member in its department of finance.

When asked in a phone interview on Oct. 28 about what prompted the change in position, Moyer said, “When I first took the position, I promised to be dean for five years. Now it’s been seven years; in July it will be eight and a half. It is my firm belief that schools benefit from new blood. And I look forward to spending the rest of my academic career teaching, which is my first love.”
