The Flux has announced the 2007 edition of its iPod Film Festival, which debuted last year with entries from 11 countries. Thanks to sponsorship from Small Dog Electronics, the festival is free to enter this year, with an iPod awarded to the winner in each category and a Mac mini computer given to the Best of Fest recipient.

No. 15 Louisville Defeats Scarlet Knights

The No. 15 University of Louisville women's basketball team defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Sunday night 53-50. Angel McCoughtry paced the Cards with 20 points and 16 rebounds while also recording six steals. Louisville fell behind by as much as 16 before a big push in the second half helped pull off the victory late in the game.

Kidnapping story asks more questions

There are too many kidnapping stories strewn across the news and far too few of them have a happy ending. Fortunately, two young boys were rescued from a St. Louis suburb recently, despite one being missing for nearly four years. Oddly, the second was only missing for about four days.

Student Government Association officials were upset by University of Louisville administrators' recent decision not to excuse students participating the "Skip Class 2/7/07" day, and rightfully so. SGA has been working to organize students to participate in a rally for higher education in the state Capitol that day, and representatives from the association are now worried that few students will show up since their absences from class will not be excused on a university-wide basis.
