This is it, a truly all-inclusive campus activity. No one is exempt. ThatÕs right, every University of Louisville student and employee must get a new university ID.

The new IDs have an equally new design and are intended to be a greater convenience to students and faculty who have several different school cards to keep up with. The improved red card can be used for the library, meal plan, facilities access, and First Star ATM machines. Also, there is a cash chip which will bank up to $99 holders can spend on snack and Pepsi machines, dorm laundry, and Copy-it centers.

“WeÕre really excited. We think this can do great things for our students and employees,” says Davetta Davis, card office manager. According to her, the event, held last week on the HS campus, couldnÕt have gone more smoothly. Over 3200 students received their IDs in two and a half days, with an average time of just under five minutes per person.

Belknap will hold the event from Sept. 5th through the 14th in Bigelow Hall in the IT building. Information on the specific hours may be found in the registrarÕs office, in the campus card office, and on flyers distributed all over campus.

“At first, I rolled my eyes when I found out I would have to go through this process, but after hearing more about how this card will work, I think it will be worth it,” says Salem Griffin, Biology junior. Davis stressed that “everyone must bring a photo ID and their university ID number.”

After Sept. 14, no university ID but the new one will be recognized. This includes all temporary IDs issued to Freshmen at orientation. Everyone must attend.
