The nation is going back to normal. Finally after two weeks of tears, two weeks of confusion and two weeks of anger, the nation is finally starting to go back to the way we were before. A nation that woke up each morning and took for granted our society and our structure. Sept. 11 was a wake up call. That morning as Americans rose from bed and fixed their coffee and made their way to work they received a slap in the face. We do bleed, we do have emotions, we can be hurt. We are not invincible.

ItÕs sad that tragedy brings this nation together. Why couldnÕt we all come together on a positive note? Why must six thousand people die before we can turn to the person next to us and take their hand in a battle for peace.

Our country is being faced with a decision. A decision that we have placed in the hands of one man, George W. Bush, commander in chief. He has already addressed the nation and expressed his empathy for the families, but he has not expressed his concern for the fathers, sons, brothers and husbands who will die in the war against terrorism. Over six thousand people died in the recent acts of terrorism against the United States of America, those numbers will be small compared to the number we might be faced with if our nation goes to war. How does one deal with that reality?

Our countrymen have also been faced with a decision. To fight or not to fight? How much does one love their country. It was apparent that those who flew planes into the World Trade Center and into the Pentagon would die for their beliefs. How do you fight and get revenge on people who are not afraid to die? There are Americans in this world who say that they would die for this country, and those are the same people that are hesitant to do just that. When will the world understand that in order to win this battle of terrorism we have to come together as one, we have to face the fear and give back to the country that has given us freedom.

Keep our nation free, be a nation of one. Stand up for what is right, fight for what we have and never forget the past.
