Ready for a second slice of pie ? The entire cast of American Pie is back after two years of making names like Stifler or phrases like, “This one time at band camp…” famous. It’s been one year since the gang graduated high school and went off to college to begin new adventures. Summer arrives and they reunite for fun in the sun. When Jim (Biggs) realizes that his dream girl, Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth) is coming home at the end of summer, he attempts to prepare for her arrival by learning how to be better in bed. Meanwhile, the guys move into a house near the lake where they get jobs as painters to pay off their expenses. Along the way, the things that made the first American Pie infamous occur such as Stifler (Seann William Scott) coming into contact with bodily fluids, Jim trying to prove he can have sex, and of course, the wisdom of Jim’s dad.

What made the first American Pie so good, was that despite the raunchy humor mixed in, there was a message that the movie tried to convey: sex is nothing without love. This movie shows that maturity is important and that growing up is necessary. The cast shows that they have grown up and they have a lot of fun in the process. AP2 is unique in that the entire cast was reunited, even characters from the first one that had minor appearances. The comedy keeps rolling from scene to scene and it really doesn’t stop. This one stands out a notch above the original. I sincerely hope that there is a third American Pie because those are seconds I definitely would like.
