Likely due to Rick Pitino being placed on unpaid administration leave, men’s basketball 2018 recruits Afernee Simons and Courtney Ramey have de-committed from the program.

Simons, a five-star guard announced his decision to re-open his recruitment in a tweet. Simons is currently rated as the number eight player overall for the 2018 class.

News of Ramey’s de-commitment from the program broke within minutes of Simons’ similar decision.

“We are going to reopen it,” said Terrell Ramey (Courtney’s father) to Evan Daniels of Scout.com. “We aren’t excited about it, but it’s something we have to do.”

Ramey, another five star guard, is currently rated as the number 26 player overall for the 2018 class.
